Chief Master Sergeant Daryl J. Herty

Chief Master Sergeant Daryl J. Herty is presently assigned as the State Command Chief for the Louisiana Air National Guard, Jackson Barracks, New Orleans, Louisiana.


Chief Herty entered the Louisiana Air National Guard in September 1985. His background is in the Vehicle Maintenance career field. After completing basic training and technical training as an automotive mechanic, he stayed there until promoted to Special Vehicle Equipment Supervisor in 1991. In February 2000 he was selected to be the First Sergeant for Logistic Readiness Squadron (LRS), Maintenance Operations Flight (MOF) and Maintenance Group until March 2004. After serving as First Sergeant he went on to be a Fuels Craftsman in March 2004. After Fuels Craftsman he became the Vehicle Fleet Manager until August 2018. May 2018 he became the Mission Support Group Superintendent. In June 2020 Chief Herty became the 159th Fighter Wing Command Chief.
